Vineoak Advisers Ltd (“Vineoak”) was founded in March 2024 by Nigel Putt to provide advice to wealth management firms with a cross-border focus, on client servicing and front office talent management.

Vineoak provides neither financial nor investment advice of any kind.

Based in the UK, the business has strong connections to Switzerland and United Arab Emirates (Dubai International Financial Centre).

Nigel started his career with Barclays Bank in 1980, and in 1991 moved to Hong Kong to join their International Private Banking business as a private banker servicing clients based in Hong Kong, Manila & Seoul. Returning to London in 1994, Nigel developed a knowledge of markets in South Asia, and eventually moved to Dubai, UAE in 2005. There, he ran, both as SEO & private banker, the wealth management offices of two UK and one German bank (which he set up from scratch). In 2011, he moved to Geneva as Head of Ultra High Net Worth for Lloyds International Private Banking, before joining Union Bancaire Privee UBP SA on their acquisition of Lloyds in 2013. There he worked as senior banker/team leader and moved to UBP London in Oct 2019. He retired in April 2024 from formal employment.

During his career, Nigel has filled the roles of relationship manager, investment adviser, team head, and Senior Executive Officer and thus gained extensive experience in all front office functions of a wealth management business, especially in regard to client families with multi-jurisdictional interests. The business as a whole has seen significant structural shifts over these years, and he has, as both manager and mentor assisted clients and colleagues respectively to deal with the consequences of these changes.

Vineoak gives its clients access to  Nigel’s first hand experience of many of the challenges wealth management firms have had to face and how they have dealt with them in the key jurisdictions of London, Geneva and Dubai/DIFC. The advice is independent, unbiased, and confidential.
